Moth Creaturae 'Fuel' Lamp

My love of vintage items from yesteryear is evident in all of my designs, and the Moth Creaturae 'Fuel' Lamp is no exception.

However this also cross's over with my other love of all things mechanical.

Every petrol head knows that our beloved machines need fuel to live just as we need air.

So the Moth Creaturae 'Fuel' Lamp pays homage to the cherished items that bring smiles to our faces; done in a way to tastefully bring into the home.

I take a vintage fuel can and carefully remove the sides sanding it to a safe and smooth finish. I then mount the plexiglass window and fabricate the access door.

The large dimmable E27 'Edison' bulb* holder is carefully mounted to a Moth Creaturae branded internal hardwood base so that the bulb sits proudly in the fuel can.

All internal wiring is neatly concealed, and the fuel cap is cleverly used as the power on/off switch and dimmer.

The fuel can is sympathetically restored in a way that removes all loose debris, paying particular attention to keep the original character of the vintage piece.

The brass cap is shined and bright works compliment its lustre.

The lamp is then finished off with a 2.5m light gold vintage style woven power cord and white plastic 3 pin plug.
